Email & Anti-Spam Policy
Effective August 4, 2026 · Last updated August 4, 2026
What you get
- The Texas Large Load Brief — every Monday at 6:30 AM Central. Roughly a five-minute read on what moved at the PUCT and inside the ERCOT stakeholder process.
- Occasional special editions — when something genuinely can't wait a week (Batch Zero inclusion notices, a major rulemaking milestone). These are rare by design. If they stop being rare, we have broken our own rule.
- Rarely, a note about GridNerd itself — for example, when the product opens to Brief readers first.
That's the whole list. We do not send daily digests, drip sequences, upsell chains, or "just checking in" emails.
How you got on this list
One way only: you entered your email address on a GridNerd signup form and asked for it.
We do not, and will not:
- buy, rent, or scrape email lists;
- add you because we met you, or because you emailed us, or because your address appears in a public filing;
- add you to the Brief because you signed up for something else.
If you are receiving the Brief and don't believe you signed up, tell us at brief@gridnerd.com — we want to know, and we will remove you immediately.
Your address is not the product
We never sell, rent, trade, or lend the subscriber list. Not to sponsors, not to partners, not to anyone. This is a permanent commitment, not a current policy.
Sponsors of the Brief buy one clearly-labeled slot in front of the whole list. They receive aggregate performance figures only — open rate, click rate, subscriber count. They never receive your address, and they never receive a list. See the Sponsorship & Editorial Policy for how that works.
Unsubscribing
Every issue carries a working unsubscribe link in the footer. One click, no confirmation page, no "are you sure," no survey asking why. It takes effect immediately.
If the link ever fails, email brief@gridnerd.com and we will do it by hand. If you would rather be erased entirely instead of suppressed, say so and we will delete your record — see the Privacy Policy.
What we measure
We track opens and link clicks so we can tell which stories are worth your time. We look at this in aggregate to make the Brief better — not to profile you, and never to share with anyone. Blocking remote images in your email client prevents open tracking and changes nothing about what you receive. Full detail is in the Privacy Policy.
Compliance
The Brief complies with the US CAN-SPAM Act: every issue identifies the sender, carries a valid physical postal address, describes itself honestly in the subject line, and offers a working one-click unsubscribe that we honor immediately. Where the GDPR, UK GDPR, or CASL apply, we send on the basis of your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
